I noticed in there all The Sims 3 expansion Packs but NO base game. In 'Advanced' you will see that Origin has a default location of where it saves all games. In your Origin launcher, click on the 'Origin' tab and then 'Application Settings'. I can't explain why it goes wrong, only what the problem is so you can solve it. It might have been okay if I had just reinstalled the base game via Origin it may have actually worked, I just wouldn't know why of course as I had removed everything.

Origin have a folder they install everything to and there I found all the expansion packs installed and no base game!? My PC at this point was convinced that all EPs were uninstalled, but this was clearly the problem.

I uninstalled everything this time, base game included, I even manually went through my registry to make sure everything was gone, no trace.or so I thought. I then installed one of the EPs again only for it to refuse, again saying 'Base Game not installed'.

With just base game installed I ran it, it worked fine. Well after much messing about, and TWO days later, I found the issue and feel I must get the solution online for any peeps struggling in the future.īecause I didn't know what else to do I uninstalled EVERYTHING Sims 3 related on my PC except for the base game, thinking that was the part not working correctly. I had this problem, I scoured the internet which showed a swath of peeps experiencing the same trouble with no clear solution.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to install the remaining expansion packs I would GREATLY appreciate it, as I have been having these difficulties for the past two days and can't seem to find any answers in the forum. I have also uninstalled Origin and installed it again in order to make sure that I have the latest updates. I have attempted uninstalling The Sims 3 and then re-installing it, again World Adventures has been the only game that will install. However each time I attempt to install any of the other games, Install Wizard opens the game, with the primary photo, the bar loads completely and then it tells me that I need to install the Sims 3 in order to install any of these games. I have been able to install World Adventures without a problem and have enjoyed playing the game. I should also mention that these games are all discs, not downloads from the store. I should mention that my game is up to date and I have downloaded all Patches for the games. I have successfully installed the Sims 3 onto my Computer (Windows XP) and am able to play the original, base game without difficulties.

I have been a long time fan of The Sims since the original series was created and have never had a problem with installing games until I had to deal with Origin.
